Add, Edit, Delete Capabilities
In addition to adding, editing, and deleting your own recipes, you have the power to do the same to any recipe that ships with
Astonish Recipes. This gives you complete customization over all the recipes. Don't like one of "our" recipes? Change it!
Really don't like it? Delete it! The choice is completely yours.
Recipe Printing
We realize that most of us don't have computers in our kitchens (yet!) and that it's important that you be able to print any recipe for
quick access while in preparing it. To make things easy, you can batch print recipes to assemble a cookbook. With the batch process,
you can easily sort your recipes to include only those you want to include.
Recipe Emailing
This is a great feature with many great features of its own. You can add as many contacts as you wish, edit that contact list, as
well as delete from your list of contacts. Geared to work seamlessly with Microsoft® Outlook®,
you can have Astonish Recipes enter the recipe title as the subject line of your email or create one of your own. You can also
include a personalized message to your email to say whatever you'd like regarding the recipe or otherwise. Plan to do quite a bit of emailing? You
can define your own default subject line and/or personalized message. Of course, you can batch email several recipes all at once to a recipient.
Recipe Searching
With all the recipes that ship with Astonish Recipes and those of your own that you'll add to the database, you'll need an easy way to
quickly find what you're looking for. Astonish Recipes features an easy-to-use search engine that can search across keywords or ingredients
with powerful category, serving size, and other grouping options. Know what you're looking for? It's easy to find! Want to find a recipe
based on what's in your cupboard? Search by ingredient and let Astonish...well, astonish you!
Customization
A program that forces you to bend to its rules won't hold your interest very long. Astonish Recipes offers many options to customize
how you work. If you prefer to see all of a recipe's components (category, title, ingredients, etc.) listed separately, no problem. If
you like more of a "recipe card" look and feel, then the "All In One" view feature is for you. Astonish Recipes puts
the power in your hands to define how you search for recipes, your email preferences, archiving choices, and much more!
Recipe Archival and Restoration
The delete button. Need we say more? However useful, this one button can wreak havoc just as easily. Fortunately, Astonish Recipes offers
a way for you to get back recipes you've accidentally deleted or ones you'd just like back for whatever reason. Every recipe that ships
with Astonish Recipes can be restored with the click of a mouse. Any recipe you enter on your own can be archived for safekeeping. Any
deleted recipe, as long as you've archived it, can be restored just as easily. Astonish Recipes is also smart enough to check category and
ingredient assignments when restoring a recipe. It will automatically restore any necessary category and/or ingredient needed that's associated
with the recipe being restored. The archival process is seamless and the restoration process is extremely fast. In our testing, we deleted
everything and were back on our way with a full restore of recipes along with their categories and ingredients in less than 90
seconds!
Meal Planning
Whether you have a special diet, are dieting in general, planning the week for your family, or run a food-related business, you can quickly
and easily create meal plans to fit any scenario. Once you have a meal plan in place, you can edit it any way you see fit. There's a
convenient "Recipe Quick View" where you can preview a recipe for a meal plan without having to leave the meal planner. Know a certain
recipe was part of a meal plan, but you don't know which one? Not a problem. Click the "Find" button or right click the recipe title and
Astonish Recipes offers to find all the meal plans that include that recipe! You can also have Astonish Recipes add the same meal to the
same day of week if you like. This is helpful when creating meal plans for a wide range of dates where a certain meal would always be served
on a specific night ("Meatloaf Thursday", anyone?). The Print feature even offers to print the recipe sheets along with the meal plan
to make things all the more convenient.
Web Cookbooks
Astonish Recipes has a great cookbook feature that's saved in a web format so you can browse your chosen recipes from a web browser.
Just pick which recipes you'd like to include and let Astonish Recipes do the rest! If you have multiple cookbooks that share the same recipes,
the cookbook generator will recognize this and re-use what it can to conserve disk space on your computer. Each cookbook is a full suite of
web pages and this means it shares the same benefits as any other website, meaning you can save them in your favorites if you'd like. Each
cookbook groups your chosen recipes by category and builds a custom "jump menu" of those categories to make finding recipes in your cookbook
quick and easy.

Some Quick Notes about the Installation Process:
This installation has a few intelligent features of which you should be aware. You have to choice to install shortcuts to the desktop,
start menu, and the Quick Launch in any combination you wish. Don't want a shortcut in your Quick Launch bar but you surely want one
on your desktop? No problem! Just uncheck the shortcuts you don't want and they won't be there. You have the option to not install the
default database. This is an important feature if you ever need to reinstall the program for any reason. Simply choose not to install the default
database and this will prevent the accidental overwriting of all the recipes you've spent so much time entering.
